My grandfather's name is
Karl Hendel. He just celebrated his 105th birthday. He was
born on 8/7/1901 in Red Wing,MN. He currently is a member of
The Lutheran Church of the Triune God in Brooklyn Center, MN.
He lives in North Ridge Nursing Home in New Hope, MN. He lived
alone until he was 100 and then moved into the nursing home. He
is healthy and the only problem is that he can not hear. He
uses a walkie talkie to communicate with people. Before
joining Triune God he belonged to Immanuel Lutheran Church in
north Minneapolis. (This church closed a few years ago). His
wife's father was the minister at the church when he joined
(Rev. Nachtsheim) back in the 1920's.
The attached picture was
taken at his birthday party on August 6th. I did not have a
picture of him alone, the people in the picture are his
granddaughter Lois and son Karl, Jr.
