The twins celebrated their 104th birthdays together (their birthday party photo from their 101st birthday party is seen here) on July 29, 2005. Thilda passed away on Feb. 5, 2006 at the age of 104 years, 6 months, 7 days and was survived by her twin sister. Lena is a member of Elim Lutheran in Rural Osakis,  MN. (Lena is the one on the left in the picture)
 
With the passing of Thilda Vangstad earlier in 2006, we now believe that the honor of world's oldest living twins belongs to Sarah Jeanmougin and Ellen Robertson (Hall) who celebrated their 104th birthdays on May 29, 2006. Sarah lives with her niece in Mohave Valley, Arizona while Ellen lives on her own in Canada and although the sisters celebrated their most recent birthdays in different countries, each remain in excellent physical and mental shape.
