Margaret Wagley-Guhlke was born
on Dec. 16, 1905 in Tekoa, Washington. She was a teacher in the Kettle
Falls, Washington, school until she married Henry Guhlke of Davenport on
Nov. 3, 1930. They have two sons, Dick and Jim. She worked at the
Lincoln County court house for 20 years and retired on Jan. 1, 1968.
She is a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Davenport where she taught
Sunday school, was a member of the women's Bible studies, the Quilting
group, and took part in almost every committee there was! She
continues to live in her own apartment in the Davenport Retirement
Village. She celebrated her 100th birthday last December with a party
and open house at the "Village" with a huge crowd of people attending,
both family and friends. (Margaret says her grandmother, Sara Jane
Speer-Wagley, also lived to be 100 years old.) |
