Esther (Volkert) Weiss born on January 8, 1908 and raised in Minneapolis, MN.   Both of her grandfathers were Lutheran pastors, one with the Missouri Synod and the other one with the Iowa Synod.   She has been a Missouri Synod Lutheran all her life. She moved to Southern California in 1930 and married Paul L. Weiss of Orange, CA also “Mo. Synoder” all his life.  They resided in Southern California and raised two children – also Missouri Synod Lutherans all their lives.  She was a church organist for several years in Ventura, CA.  My father passed away in 1986 and my brother passed away in 2004 so now my mother lives here in Coarsegold, CA with me.  She is fairly alert to the present time and is ambulatory with a walker but rides in a transport chair to church nearly every Sunday.
