In October 1518, one year after the posting of the 95 Theses, Martin Luther is interviewed in Augsburg by Cardinal Cajetan. After refusing to recant his views on indulgences Luther escapes Augsburg on horseback to avoid being arrested.

This escape set the stage for several years of discourse between Luther, the church and the government ultimately leading to the formation of the Lutheran Church. A church that understands what it means to take action against oppressive and restrictive behaviors.
